Notification of Releases/Maintenance

I've received a handful of e-mails over the past month or so from clients who were frustrated that they couldn't log in during the time the site was down for a weekly release. All of them were on the West Coast. I explained the situation to them and provided the schedule we generally stick to, but most were unaware of our standard release time.
I'm wondering if we can direct them to a page that provides a bit more detail such as "We are working on improving your YCharts experience by adding new products/data - we'll be back shortly". Maybe even some more detail somewhere on the site noting that it usually occurs Wed at 6:30 ET.
Can dig up e-mails if needed for support. Just wanted to get the idea out there.
We will at least put up the banner day of the release as a reminder. We'll try to come up with automated solution. We'll add something to the FAQ as well - "When does site maintenance occur?" or something.
