Export Alerts to Excel

Kyle Geers shared this idea 9 years ago
Completed

The user is looking for the ability to export alerts to Excel. This client sets a TON of alerts and they have trouble managing them in the pop up on the site - hence the request to export to Excel. I know this was sent over by Caleb a while back when it was initially requested. Any updates?

We were also looking at the option of adding a scroll bar to the alerts pop-up as an intermediate fix.

There is a scroll bar there now. Not sure if you mean something else.

Otherwise exporting to Excel is a non starter. It would just be a list.

Justin, all good on the scroll bar.

What do you mean by exporting to Excel is a non starter? The client is simply looking for a list.

The same client (Nate Raschke) is asking about this again. Ultimately I think he's just looking for a cleaner interface to manage his alerts. As you can see it's not the prettiest based on how he has them set up. Any ideas on what we can do about this?

Nate Raschke, back at it again. Still wants the ability to export alerts. This is his response to me telling him that we intended on the new and improved manager being his solution.

"Has the interface been improved visually and functionally? Sure. But it doesn’t alleviate my need to export the data. To give you some context, I am an investment analyst – and I need to communicate to my boss and peers what alerts are set and why. They do not log in to YCharts - so I would need to hand type in sometimes 20+ alert points for 200+ companies into a spreadsheet.

Take Accenture as an example – it is just a mess – it won’t make sense to anyone without a little interpretation. But each of these has a purpose. It would be nice if there was the ability to type in a brief note for the purpose of each alert.

And lastly, is there any way to change that feature of only allowing an alert to trigger once? We know Accenture is expensive, almost all these alerts say “already triggered”! Believe it or not, we are not day traders, we actually are fairly slow to take action. Sometimes, it is nice to have reminders."
