Examples include upcoming ex-dividend dates, earnings release dates, etc. Would like to set up a filter for dates to fall within a specific range.

So we are researching on pre-backed security lists that are event based. So think of performance based lists like Recent 52 Week Highs but they would be upcoming dividends (1 Week), upcoming splits, etc.
